This year has been quite a ride for a lot of men, woman, and animals of armed service.
There was:
- Liam and his dog Theo who bravely served in the military and were given medal of honor
- Colton and his dog Eli, who were separated when Colton was killed in action, leaving Eli to Colton’s family.
- Airborne dog that helped catch Osama bin Laden
The common theme that bonds them all together?
When Taliban insurgents shot down an American military helicopter in Afghanistan, 30 American soliders lost their lives.
One of them was Jon T. Tumilson.

During Jon’s funeral in Iowa, his dog Hawkeye.. waited for his master to come back.
Literally.

Here’s the video of Hawkeye (it’s in repeat mode)
What a tear jerker. *sob*
Have you hugged or kissed YOUR dog today?
If not, go ahead.
Your dog will be there for you.
Tell your dog that you will be there for him/her.
Remember, it’s not MONEY or THINGS that make the world a better place.
It’s love, compassion, and connection that makes you and me smile.
And I don’t know what’s more loving, more compassionate, and more mentally and spiritually “connected” (to people) than dogs.
What awesome animals.
No one can fully understand the meaning of love unless he’s owned a dog. A dog can show you more honest affection with a flick of his tail than a man can gather through a lifetime of handshakes.
