How Devoted Touched and Saved Dawn’s Life

Have you ever experienced something so traumatic that it made you question everything?

Including faith in humanity itself?

Meet Dawn.

Dawn was a young woman whose life was tragically and permanently changed by low life home invaders.

The perpetrators shot her 5 times and left her paralyzed from the waist down.

As you can imagine, Dawn’s faith in humanity was shattered.

This story comes close to home for me, as my family experienced home invasion when I was at a ripe age of 10.

I still remember and have occasional nightmare about it.. the guys wearing ski masks.. the extreme adrenaline rush.. the whole family being forced to face down on the floor… i still remember it very clearly to this day.

Luckily for me and my family, we escaped that event unscathed.. but unfortunately for Dawn, that was not the case.

Here is Dawn’s story and how her dog Devoted changed her life.

Here’s the transcript:

On May 2, 2007, my life as I knew it was changed forever.

During an home invasion, I was shot 5 times and left paralyzed.

This is a story of courage… of friendship and loyalty.

Three years later, the Lord brought Devoted into my life.

And so our journey began.

A new day has come.

As time passed, Devoted flourised with his service dog training.

This is a story about a beautiful dog whom has helped me heal, forgive, and trust once again.

He comforted me during my darkest days.

He brought laughter back into my life.

AS the days turned into months, Devoted continued his training and dedication.

I no longer worry about the 10,000 things I cannot do, rather I focus on the 1,000 things I can do with Devoted’s help.

Devoted has given me the courage to continue life to the fullest.

He is my friend whom has taught to believe once again.

This is a journey of strength, loyalty, friendship, and trust.

In dedication to working dogs that bless our lives daily.
