Lately, there’s been a lot of natural disasters where search & rescue dogs have played huge roles, including Japan earthquake/tsunami and the tornadoes in the south.

Amazing thing about search & rescue dogs: they know how to save their own too.

Meet Javier, a search & rescue dog.

After a devastating tornado ravaged the city of Joplin, Missouri, guess who .. or WHAT… Javier found underneath a pile of rubbles.

Yeap, a DOG:

Cameras captured the rescue dog, named Javier, smelling what could be a person trapped under the rubble. Rescuers then heard moaning and frantically start pulling up the rubble.

The victim trapped underneath the debris wasn’t a person – it was another dog.

Javier’s trainer says the rescue proves you should never give up.
